Classic 1950s fitted cardigan in red wool knit, heavily decorated with white bugle beads and small studs. The beadwork forms a trailing leaf or branch motif across the front and shoulders, continuing on the back of the neck and cuffs. Lining in red rayon to support the weight of the embellishments. Closes at the front with dome-shaped faux pearl buttons.
This type of cardigan was popular in the 1950s and often sold as a souvenir or gift item, likely made in Hong Kong or Japan for the export market.
