Original deadstock 1950s sunglasses by Samco — "The Famous Sunglasses" — with a lightweight gold-tone metal frame and green lenses. The extra wide cat-eye lens measures 68 mm. Lenses, temple tips, and nose pads are all made from plastic.
This style was originally part of a budget-friendly range, so the frame is intentionally lightweight and flexible rather than solid and heavy. The sunglasses are unworn and in new condition, but time has left some signs of ageing on the metal parts. Still, it’s an incredibly cool and wearable accessory with authentic mid-century charm.
Measurements:
• Frame width 15 cm / 6"
• Lens width 6.8 cm / 2.75"
• Lens height 4 cm / 1.5"
• Bridge width 2 cm / 0.75"
• Temple arm length 14 cm / 5.5"
In good condition with signs of age. This is an old pair of sunglasses — the fit and feel may differ from modern eyewear. Please keep that in mind when purchasing. Please review all photos carefully before purchasing.
