Two-piece 1940s women’s suit consisting of a jacket and matching skirt. Made from wool gabardine with a fine houndstooth pattern in a warm brown tone. The jacket has a strong period silhouette with pronounced shoulder padding and a sharply defined waist.
The jacket has a revere collar and a double-breasted front with six buttons. It has faux breast pockets and multiple darts at the front and back for shaping. The cuffs have a turn-up with button closure. The jacket is lined with rayon. The skirt is straight cut with small side slits and closes with a metal side zipper.

In good condition, with a few areas of wear and minor damage consistent with age. Please see photos for details. The skirt has been taken in at the waist. The lining has been partially replaced, as the original lining was no longer in good condition.
