The Jane top is made in a white tricot fabric with a fine black dotted stripe pattern. It has cut-on short sleeves with black cuffs, a black waistband, and large black buttons at the front. The top has a pointed wing collar with a shaped back. It is based on an original 1950s pattern. The fit is waist length with a slightly bloused body. The black trim at the sleeves and waistband gives a clear contrast against the black and white pattern.
