1960s Large Woven Straw Handbag

Large 1960s handbag made from woven straw strips, intricately interlaced with natural straw and white and gold plastic ribbons. The bag is structured from two symmetrical panels and reinforced with black plastic and cardboard. It closes with a metal twist-lock clasp. The interior is lined with a loose-fitting white jute fabric featuring blue pinstripes — the lining is detached on one side, possibly by design or due to age. The flap closure is reinforced with cardboard and shows a crease from use.
