Large vintage black wicker handbag, made in Hong Kong and dating from the late 1950s to 1960s. The bag has a rounded, structured shape and is made from tightly woven wicker. It closes at the front with a leather tab and metal turn-lock closure. The base is finished with metal studs, allowing the bag to stand upright. The interior is lined with black plastic and has a checkered fabric panel with a zippered pocket. The bag is fitted with leather handles attached with metal rivets. The label reads “Made expressly for Simon – Hand made in Hongkong,” indicating Hong Kong export production from the late 1950s to 1960s.
