60s 70s Mexican Tooled Leather Bag with Goat Hair and Embossed Bird Motif

Handcrafted western style leather shoulder bag from Mexico, dating from the 1960s or 70s. The bag features embossed circular bird motifs on both sides, set within soft panels of cow or goat hair. The edges are finished with detailed tooled leather and hand-laced whipstitching along the seams.

The interior is divided into three compartments, one of which closes with a zipper. On the outside, both sides have a zippered pocket and a snap-button pocket. The strap is made of soft leather and is adjustable in length with snap buttons. 
Measurements: 28.5 cm wide, 24 cm high. The strap measures 66 cm and can be lengthened using the snaps and use it as shoulder bag.

The bag is in good vintage condition with visible signs of age. 
The hair panel on one side appears thin, likely part of the original texture. The strap is worn and in need of repair—see the last photo for a close-up of the most damaged section. 
The last three centimeters of the inner zipper can no longer be closed.
