Gold-toned brocade woven 1950s dress made from with metallic threads. The fabric has a rich, structured feel and a nice sheen. The dress is labeled Made in England. The bodice is has darts at the front and back. It has a wide neckline and small cap sleeves. The skirt starts at the waist and is pleated. On the indide, the skirt is fully constructed in panels and still contains its original stiff paper interfacing, which helps it hold its shape. The dress closes at the back with a long metal zipper and hook-and-eye fastening.

In good condition. The fit on the mannequin is affected by the narrow sleeve circumference. The dress shows signs of age consistent with wear. At the back bodice, it is visible that darts were once altered and later reversed. Inside the skirt, original internal bands are present to help keep the pleats in place.
