1950s/60s Bamboo Barrel Handbag

Unusual 1950s/60s barrel-shaped handbag made from narrow bamboo slats, with a flexible matching handle and dark scorched detailing. The rounded sides give the bag a compact cylindrical shape. It closes with a metal snap button.

Measurements:
• Width: 20 cm / 7 3/4”
• Diameter: 11 cm / 4 1/4”

In good vintage condition. The snap button has some oxidation and is therefore fairly stiff to open. There is one small nail hole near the fastening, as shown in the last photo. Minor general signs of age and use.
