1950s black hat by Eva Mae Modes. Made from grey linen over grosgrain, with a wide brim and an unusual folded construction. The fabric is arranged in overlapping panels around the crown, with small cream and black fabric flowers around the outer edge.
The hat has a separate inner crown, reinforced with metal wire to hold its shape. It also has an elastic to secure it when worn.
Measurements: • Width: 25 cm / 9 3/4” • Front to back: 26 cm / 10 1/4” • Inner circumference: approx. 52 cm / 20 1/2”
The hat itself is in good vintage condition. The original flower decoration shows its age, with fading, fraying and wear to the small fabric flowers. Please see the photos.
