Antique Hat Stand With Turned Column, 40.5 cm / 16"

Antique wooden hat stand dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. It has a beautifully twisted column and mushroom-shaped top with carved detailing around the edge. The wood has been painted black, giving it an ebonized look, though the paint shows significant wear, especially around the base, where it flakes off easily. The stand also appears to have been partially repainted at some point. The wood itself is lightweight.

The surface shows paint loss, flaking and scuffs consistent with age. Sold as-is. Otherwise in good condition and still very sturdy.
