Late 1950s floral tapestry handbag by F.L. Fifth Ave. New York. The front is made from woven tapestry fabric with an ornate floral and scroll design in muted red, green, cream and gold tones. The reverse and lower section are finished in black fabric.
The bag has a gold tone metal frame with a kiss-lock closure and a twisted black handle. The handle appears to be made from moulded plastic or resin, although its exact material is uncertain. The black interior is clean and has several slip pockets.

In reasonably good vintage condition. The tapestry fabric has some yellowing towards the sides. The gold tone frame shows tarnishing and surface wear. The handle has developed an irregular, slightly distorted surface, possibly from age or previous exposure to heat. The interior is in good condition.
