Exceptional 1950s novelty dress in blue gabardine with four large cream abstract floral appliqués across the full skirt. The highly stylised branching motifs are made from textured trim and give the dress a distinctive mid-century look.
The fitted bodice has short dolman sleeves, a high rolled collar and pleating running from the neckline towards the waist. The very full skirt is shaped with deep pleats at the front and back, creating a beautiful 1950s silhouette.
The dress closes with an original metal zipper at the back and an additional metal side zipper. It bears its original woven “Berliner Wertarbeit” label and size 38 label.
A particularly unusual example of 1950s German novelty fashion.

In good vintage condition. No holes. There is some light, uneven discoloration to the blue fabric, most noticeable around the front neckline, and there are some minor make-up marks on the inside of the collar.
